HIV stigma remains as rife as ever in 2019!

New polling reveals 45% of gay and lesbian Brits would feel ‘uncomfortable’ having sex with someone with HIV and on effective treatment despite zero risk of transmission.

This comes despite huge medical progress in the fight against HIV, including that people living with the virus and on effective treatment can’t pass it on – with or without a condom.

Catwalk4power has come to Brighton!

Positively UK has joined strengths with the Sussex Beacon to promote the amazing and empowering Catwalk4Power event and workshops.

Catwalk4Power is a programme for women living with HIV, designed to tackle their invisibility in conversations about HIV, and to demonstrate that they are powerful, resourceful women.

The Catwalk is there to highlight hope, resilience and skills. It began as a self-funded grass roots movement and have grown into a project that follows a series of workshops to empower women living with HIV, ending in a show case of talent and beauty.

You don’t have to commit to all the workshops to take part, and you can take part in the catwalk if you haven’t come to all workshops.

There is also no pressure to ‘strut’ on the catwalk at the end (which will be to an invited audience of allies), and you can support from the side if you prefer. Find more about the programme of workshops below:
