Volunteer with Peer Action: help us shape our future!

We – the Peer Action trustees – have been working to get a clearer picture of where do we want Peer Action to be in the future. Our mission has been redefined to say:

We are a voluntary grassroots group offering
peer-led support to people living with HIV.
We focus on enjoying good health with well-being
and therapy days, sports and leisure activities
in Brighton & Hove and surrounding areas.

We carry on working on our plan and we cannot do it on our own: that is the reason why we come to invite you to volunteer with Peer Action and help us shape our future. We are peers supporting peers, so your time, strength and willingness to help us to become better are very welcome.

Please join us as:

* An event coordinator or assistant:  if you would like to see your ideas for events and activities becoming reality, these are the roles for you!
* A communications assistant: if you enjoy maintaining engagement via our website, social media and email newsletter, this is the role for you!
* A volunteer therapist: professionals with skills for any complementary therapies are welcome to apply!
* A trustee: if you would like to help define the direction for Peer Action, this is for you!

We will be very happy to welcome to the team. If you need support or training to undertake duties, this will be provided as required.

You will find out the application form and more information about each role below.

To apply for one (or more) roles, please fill in an application form and send it by email to

If you have a question, please reach us via contact page. Also, feel free to spread the word!

HIV stigma remains as rife as ever in 2019!

New polling reveals 45% of gay and lesbian Brits would feel ‘uncomfortable’ having sex with someone with HIV and on effective treatment despite zero risk of transmission.

This comes despite huge medical progress in the fight against HIV, including that people living with the virus and on effective treatment can’t pass it on – with or without a condom.
